Great skit. I live in Windsor Colorado where there was an Eastman Kodak plant built in late 1960s and it's gone for this very reason. Thousands in our area worked there for decades then were laid off over several years. Kind of a sore subject around here but also a "not what to do" lesson for all businesses. You (guys 😊) are funny
Too bad there was not enough time to include the 2016 when they decided to try crypto, releasing Kodakcoin and Kodak bitcoin mining computer, both failed.
Would have been pretty smart if they kept developing the camera that didn't need film, so when their competitors finally figured out how to do it, they could release their own product. But hindsight is 2020, I guess
When accountants and stock market gurus have anaconda grip over operation there is no value of science, safe guards and human values it’s all about transactions and instant $$$. Their mindset is to suck the juice out of everything and then leave empty shell and move on to another to do the same. They made life shaving medicine research and manufacturing a commodity, then took over entire health care business including hospitals, distribution and retail, then PBM, Medicare, Medicaid,
Research the topic and you will realize that Kodak made the right decision 50 years ago. Digital cameras weren't at all practical. They could have never manufactured or sold the product back then.
I worked as a cleaner at Kodak when I was a student. The building was a maze and a timecapsule. Security was very tight to keep secrets from leaking.
I remember looking around as I walked through the building, taking it all in. It never seemed to have gotten an update, at least not the offices and labs. Everything was tinted yellow, and it felt like walking through a movie scene. It was a very distopian looking building. It's gone now, but it was one of the strangest places I've been in my life!

In the early 1900s, the British had the world's largest and most powerful navy. More powerful than the next two navies combined. They then invented the Dreadnought battleship, which made every other warship in the world obsolete, including their own.
I still remember seeing 60's Hawaii 5-0 episodes where some tourist "Happens" to video film the suspect at the train station with a clock in the background that is perfectly blown up visual on zoom.
That's just how late stage capitalism works. If you can't adapt to changing innovation and technical development, then you die on an antiquated hill with a fraction of your wealth.
If you start seeing a notable dip, just sell out the business and outdated patents and find something new to do, by that point you'll most likely be a multi-millionare at least.

I'm no economist but… why didn't they just start making their own digital camera?
this is the best one yet
I miss those little film containers. They were useful for everything

They would sell odd-sized cameras and then make the films for them.
"Capitalism breeds innovation"
Meanwhile in Capitalism:
Just think right now we could refer to all digital cameras as Kodaks
