That is why it’s called the free market. I hope that if you have been working for the same employer for 30 years it’s because you like the culture and have been able to invest enough money to get you through retirement.
If neither of those things are true then you should really consider finding another company to work for.
It has changed over the years! Nobody in corporate America cares for their workers, it’s about revenue, sales and income! No matter how hard you work there is no employee appreciation! Been there! Was so disgusted when I retired, I wanted to tell my boss, I quit!🤬

YES!!! These companies will literally make you risk your life- I was asked to check on the business office physically 10 minutes after a TORNADO passed by! Then they still took away my hybrid work schedule that they had promised me and which I needed because my commute was too long after Covid as soon as I got pregnant after working there 6 years with perfect performance reviews.

They weren't given a heads up that their job was being "discontinued. " i know because I was one of them. My loyalty is to me and my family first.
Many of these “self proclaimed good guys “ in corporate America are just psychopaths! How many of them hire and abuse UNPAID interns, who may only get lucky, if they have the (family backed) and patience to stick around, before any of their hard work pays off into recognition and a decent salary?!
