if no more physical cash, then probably, the most genius hacker will try to hack the main server and will just add 1 zero at a time on his digital account until he got trillions of money and the world will die economically and silently!!
I pay cash as frequently as possible. Usually, when I purchase something in a small business, they're like "it'll be 52€", and I'm like "darn, I only have 50 in cash, guess I'll have to pay by card". The answer usually is "nah, 50 cash is fine". Earned 2€, supported small business with cash, that's a win-win.
I am protesting to rampant greed, they are charging for bags and forcing environmentally unhealthy paper spoons and straws on me, so I am withholding my money from those places. The crazy thing is once I did that, I realized that I was saving over $1000 per month on not buying things and not contributing to the economy
If you have any non personal bank account they charge you for counter services. I’m treasurer of a small association and the bank charges us monthly fees and counter fees, as though we are a business. So far the ATM is free to use.
Bottom line Capitalisim is predatory and evil when left to its own devices. You have to put what may SEEM like an unreasonable amount of rules and regulations in place because they can and WILL weasel their way around any they can. Capitalisim rewards immoral psychopathic behavior and literally puts psychopaths in charge (literally the kind of people you wouldn't trust to PLANT SIT running the fu*king world) qnd we wonder why everything is so awful?!?! Like come ON! IT'S SO FU*KING OBVIOUS!
Haven't figured out how to charge people for cash. Have any of you got your own ATMs left or are they all the third parties?? I paid $4 for a withdrawal the other day
They charge the business a percentage of the cash they pay in, at the moment its around 2%, and they also charge the business a similar percentage to change money for floats etc. So they may not be charging the individual directly but the business has to recover the increased cost somehow.
To charge people to pay to use cash. You just charge them to withdraw. Ez. People will start to either keep everything under their bed. Or have to withdraw large sums and die from inflation
You actually can charge fees for using cash! Banks charge the vendors for depositing cash to the point where some businesses actually prefer card payments!
How they would do it is by charging a plastic glove replacement fee. If a worker has to take off/put on a new glove to settle a spot pos cash payment….. that said, i think using cash is good.
The 3 properties and 3 functions of money {(portability, divisibility, fungibility) and (store of value, medium of exchange, and unit of accounting)}… will likely be split due to cryptocurrency; but fiat currency is still necessary for paying taxes in all governments which still have room to invest in their lands for public infrastructure projects and eco management… Cash having zero fees is useful, but only so much compared to low fee cryptos… the West taking a settlement monopoly for granted and the abuse of it is despicable.
Anyway, trading trinkets with nostalgic bets/value(s) that's less quantifiable, and trading identity bound or bund on account types of rigidly unfungible NFTs for gaming that strives to prevent and control for abuses like seen in Venezuela gold farming markets in osrs, millions invested in eve online with artificial resources quantifying shifts of associations, and th externalizing cost/disruption model imposing risks and ultimately costs onto the globally ignored especially as due to undocumented status in an insular power structure(s)…
The exclusivity of the West since the election of traitor Trump has clearly externalized more costs and has made America more abusive of its laurels and the destruction and debasement of money than any creation of new wealth.

And then people wonder why we have 10% inflation per year

Why should it be a percentage when the underlying cost per transaction doesn't change?
Banks charge cash handling fees..

Undeclared, black, cash-in-pocket for as many things as I can, always. Bank money is only to pay mortgage and phone bill.

Gas stations give you a 10 cent discount per gallon if you use cash or their specific credit card.
But they do charge for using cash. There are fees to deposit in the bank.
We shouldn't allow cash to die…
CBDC's will be part of daily life from 2025 and beyond
Cash is always king

Y'all are losing 4 billion+ dollars collectively to use a card instead of cash. If you don't
There is no fee on credit cards if you pay your bill on time.. plus you usually get a 1 to 3 % cash back
you can charge people to use cash, just make them pay a fee to get cash at an atm
Fees on cash is tax

Sure you can 🙂 guess who pays the guys with a big bullet proof truck to come take your money to the bank?
Actually they did. Just charge the same price if using cash and charge the business for the service.

What, no debt? 😂
There are cash handling fees…
“Can’t charge them fees to use cash can we”
ATMS be like 🤭
Still an improvement on card swipe. Still carry some cash around in case they have cash discount.
Yeah you can't charge percentage of a sale, you can only charge transaction fee. Sorry script writers, you have koala brain
Fees for cash is called sales tax
