If you want to buying something, you probably don't need it. If you want to go somewhere, you probably don't need to go there. If you want to eat something, you probably don't need to eat it. If you want to experience something, you probably don't need to experience it.
Invest in SP500 instead. You can do all that after you retire with 4% rule.
Fantastic video! I really like how it emphasizes money management and purposeful spending. I've always been the type of person to spend my entire paycheck. I hate having money just sit in the banK but I am trying to save now and invest. I would appreciate any advice on potential investments.
Almost everything about the United States of America is toxic when it comes to financial security and long-term sense of calm regarding our financial picture. Just look at our healthcare industry alone and you can understand the anxiety people feel . Pretty much one disease can wipe you out… Even if you're insured
I've learnt over the years that we can have plans for any savings we may accrue but life will tell us what it HAS to be spent on. This removed a lot of financial angst for me.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Ecclesiastes 7:12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
Luke 16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
I discovered this page recently, and I love almost everything you post. But would you please change this "get smarter faster" slogan. In itself it is deceiving and stemming from a consumer culture logic. No amount of crash courses will get us smarter, and definitely not "faster" It'd rather invite and encourage people to look up the topic more in depth and find their own answers.
This is not to hinder the quality of the topics and the great guests you are inviting.. Just a little remark.
If I'm not spending on my self, then why do I need to be rich, Ultimately the only practical answer over years i have found is invest in urself ,invest in your skills,in your health Things that makes you a better person One day you will realize its not money itself that makes you happy its the rewards that you can buy for yourself with the hard earned money, the effort you took makes you happy
Awesome video! I love the focus on spending intentionally and aligning money with values. I share similar tips on my channel about budgeting and smart money decisions. Keep up the great work!
No one teaching you about money and expecting you to function in society is the equivalent of not teaching you to drive and giving you a car…..Absolutely ridiculous right

I gained many new insights from this video. Thank you for sharing this information for free. I really appreciate the idea of gifting myself and others experiences rather than material possessions. It's very good advice indeed.

Someone's once told me why do you compare,no one cares what you have
Why use debit card and not credit card? Credit card gives cashback or rewards (and you dont carry a balance of course)

Seems familiar.

The only bible I read
1611 King James Bible
Don’t go to college. Work. Avoid debt. Don’t invest in the stock market, instead support local economy.
So sad seeing my poor friends struggle and then spend their hard earned money impulsively and carelessly 😢
The thumbnail is anti-semitic 😂😂
Some logical fallacies in here. Too much pop psych.
In the world of gold and fleeting gain,
We chase, we borrow, yet feel the pain.
But ah, my friend, let go of the race,
True wealth lies in a peaceful space.
Money is but a fleeting guest,
It's in the mind where we find rest.
When the heart is free, from debt unbound,
In quietude, true wealth is found.
The treasures sought by many a soul,
Are in the mind, not the wealth pole.
No gold can bind a sovereign heart,
When you own yourself, you play the part.
Let not the market’s voices roar,
For freedom lies beyond that door.
Step inside, where peace resides,
And let true wealth be your guide.
In what you give, not in what you hold,
Is where your riches shall unfold.
So free your mind from want’s cruel snare,
And let your soul’s true wealth be there.
