True I wasted all my money on Apple products because I wanted them for college donβt regret it. I got at least another 50 years to rebound
Edit: I got a refurbished iPhone 15, brand new iPad Air m2 with Apple Pencil pro, MacBook Air m3. Reason I got all of them is because usb-c and thatβs about it
Only reason Iβm upgrading my phone is 64gb torture of storage being full. That and buying a new pc because my 9 year old laptop canβt handle much with its age and 256gb storageβ¦β¦. I had my old phone for like 6-8 years now that I think about it
My dream car is an ND Miata. Iβve wanted one for years. And fortunately theyβre not too expensive. Other than that, lifestyle inflation is not getting the best of me.
One of his best videos I have seen so far. Less of a "you're a victim of society" and more of a "you are hurting yourself with your decisions" message.
I call this the iPhone effect because I saw it happen a lot while being still in school. People had 200-400β¬ Androids and were perfectly fine with them. Then they got an iPhone(and sometimes expensive Androids) for over 1000β¬ and never bought a cheaper phone again.
The hedonic treadmill also has implications on humanity as a whole as no matter what stage of technological developments or pleasures we adapt so no matter what people are happy and people are sad and that I feel is the most comforting thought There may be much that separates me from my ancestors and my descendants but no matter what we will both smile and we will both frown
i thought buying my dream phone was one that worked…. and swapped phones cause old one battery died in 7 minutes and replacing the battery the same price as my new dream phone…. please see dream car for same message… Buying a dΜΆrΜΆeΜΆaΜΆmΜΆ home is just that a dream.
I follow the function over form reasoning: car, will it get me where i want, last enough time to save for a replacement? Yes? Good enough. Phone: will it run smoothly the apps i need? Good enough. House: where is it and does it have enough space for me and my family? Good enough. Only change if those functions are no more satisfied, which usually happens when a car/phone breaks down and as for the house if I must change city i guess.
How to be happy, get a car that can go from a to b, buy a flat (apartment of your American) that you can afford, buy a good quality phone thats at best $500 to $550

The most truthful information I had all day.
Letβs learn. β€
βStuffβ contains more happiness in the 5 minutes before you bought it, than you will get owning it the rest of your life π€
Thank you β€
mf will invent whole ass philosophies just to not say 'consumerism destroys happiness and capitalism will rob you of your agency'

My dream car is a truck. Literally any truck.
Does it work? Only half the time? Deal!
Lifestyle inflation in a nutshell.

stay content don't find new things to make you happy
fight club?
What you think about dropshiping
Man I've been going down this hole with home projects and auto projects
Phones change a lot in terms of processor and other stuff but itβs mostly stuff the general public doesnβt care about
This happens to me with books, as if there's no new twist, with a general plot similar to other books; I disconnect and find a new book.
You know itβs bad when the salespeople start saying you need to stop spending so much.
That's why what makes me happy exists in great abundance and is of low value.
i love chipolate
I dont get people who care about new phones and new cars
